I had to take a break from the January challenge I gave myself, I didn't realize how time intensive it would be to draw, outline and color finished drawings would be. Not to mention other projects came up. I've moved it in to February and have 6 more to do but I'm pretty happy with the results. This one has been pretty fun though, doing the research on old cartoons I used to watch and figuring out which character and pose I wanted to do. From most of the drawing I did it's obvious I'm a huge Hanna/Barbera fan (which I knew but didn't realize how much).The previous challenges were more about filling up sketchbooks where this one was pushing myself to go the whole 9 yards with my art.

I decided back in November to do another challenge and asked my friends, family and internet for some suggestions on their favorite cartoon characters. I guess the request wasn't clear because I all received were a bunch of likes and one suggestion. So instead I will do MY favorite cartoon characters. This may turn out to be more interesting because in my 37 years I have watched and loved tons of cartoons. Plus the majority will probably be from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, of characters we may not see too often anymore. This time around I'm going to do my best to do finished drawings, meaning they won't be done in a sketchbook in pencils only, but most likely 9x12 bristol paper, inked and colored with Copics. Let the challenge begin.

I asked friends and family for sketch suggestions I could do for each day of September. I'm pretty happy with the results and now I'm going to try my hand at Inktober since inking is my weakest skill in art. I'm sure by the end of October I will have improved a lot.

Finally learned how to use Flash, not really because it was something I had always wanted to learn, but I did want to learn a different type of animating I hadn't tried before. I chose for my final to do an animated short instead of a web page.
